BALTIMORE, MD – On March 1, the Maryland Zoo will end its shortened winter schedule and return to regular hours and pricing. The normal hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week and will be in effect through the end of December 2023. General admission guests who schedule their visit online will save money and time – enjoying faster entry and saving $2 over the walk-up admission price.
“Similar to our hibernating grizzly bears, the approach of spring means more people will want to be outdoors in the coming weeks,” said Kirby Fowler, President and CEO of the Maryland Zoo. “The Zoo is the perfect place to enjoy the changing seasons and we’ve made it easier than ever with online ticketing and an amazing roster of animal and educational programming for people of all ages.”
Each January and February, the Zoo operates on shortened winter hours Friday through Monday. The annual practice reflects reduced visitor and animal activity in the heart of winter. Because many animals prefer the warmth of their indoor space and are not as visible, admission during this winter period was lowered to just $17 per guest.
