Reserve NowJoin other zoo-loving scouts for an educational sleepover in either our Penguin Education Center or Main Valley. Scouts will tour an area of the Zoo and engage in fun planned activities.
Tickets:
- $100 per person
A 25% program deposit of total Overnight cost is required at time of registration.
All tickets include:
- Dinner and breakfast
- Games and activities
- Admission to the Zoo on the following day

Who is invited to a scout Zoo Snooze?
Groups with children ages 6 and up. Groups must have a minimum of 20 people or a maximum of 35 people with an adult:child ratio of 1:3.
When are Zoo Snooze Overnights offered?
Overnights begin at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and end at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. Zoo admission is included and participants are welcome to spend the day at the Zoo on Sunday.
What will we do during a Zoo Snooze Overnight?
Participants will tour the Zoo from a whole new perspective. Participants will tour an area of the Zoo from a whole new perspective, explore zoo science concepts through participatory games, and meet an animal ambassador.
What is on the menu for the Zoo Snooze Overnight?
Dinner menu: Salad, hand-tossed cheese and pepperoni pizza, and a variety of soft drinks
Breakfast menu may include: bagels, muffins, coffee, tea, and juice
If you have any dietary restrictions/allergies please bring your own food as needed.
Do I need to bring anything with me for the overnight?
The following are some of the suggested items to bring:
- Sleeping bag/mat, cot, or air mattress
- Weather appropriate clothing
- Pillow
- Sleeping mask
- Medications
- Toiletries
- Flashlight (no headlamps please)
- Snacks
- Change of clothes
- Cup for drinks
What happens in the event of inclement weather?
The Zoo has the right to move the event indoors or cancel the overnight in the event of inclement weather. Participants will be notified the morning of the overnight as to whether or not the overnight will continue as planned. Participants will receive a full refund should the zoo have to cancel.
How can I sign up for a Zoo Snooze Overnight?
Space is limited and reservations are required. Minimum of 20, maximum of 35 spaces available unless otherwise noted. Group leaders please note: meeting the minimum does not guarantee a private overnight for your group. We reserve the right to add groups to any overnight until our maximum is met.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation notification must be received 30 days before the scheduled Zoo Snooze overnight date to receive a refund of the program balance (this does not include the non-refundable program deposit). No refunds of the program balance will be issued within 30 days of the scheduled Zoo Snooze overnight date unless a cancellation is made by the Zoo in the event of inclement weather or other circumstances. To cancel, please email fieldtrips@marylandzoo.org The Zoo has the right to amend any cancellation policies.
